Vertical solutions for wastewater treatment

The treatment of urban wastewater such as grey water or hydroponic solutions can be some of the strategies to incorporate into urban agriculture, promoting food security, reducing water pressure and mitigating the consequences of climate change.

The GICITED group participates, together with other international researchers, in ecotechnologies such as wet walls for the treatment of gray water (wetwalls), which allow, from the selection of plant species and different substrates, to remove contaminating particles and integrate the circular economy in architectural design.
